Hai Long - Taiwan

The Hai Long Offshore Wind Project is a landmark renewable energy development located 45 to 70 kilometres off the coast of Changhua County in the Taiwan Strait. With a total planned capacity of 1,022 megawatts (MW), it ranks among the largest offshore wind projects in Asia.

The project is being delivered in three key phases:

  • Hai Long 2A (294 MW)

  • Hai Long 2B (224 MW)

  • Hai Long 3 (504 MW)

Designed for offshore conditions with water depths between 35 and 55 meters, the project will deploy Siemens Gamesa SG 14-222 DD turbines, each rated at 14 MW. These turbines are supported by three-legged jacket foundations, engineered to suit the site’s seabed characteristics.

Offshore construction began in April 2024, with foundation and substation installation now underway. The project is on track for full commissioning between 2025 and 2026, marking a major milestone in Taiwan’s offshore wind roadmap.

Once operational, Hai Long will deliver clean, renewable electricity to over one million households, supporting Taiwan’s national target of 15 GW offshore wind capacity by 2035.
