Yunlin - Tawian
The Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm, located in the Taiwan Strait, is one of Taiwan’s significant renewable energy projects, featuring 80 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines. With a total capacity of 640 MW, it is expected to provide clean energy to over 600,000 Taiwanese households once fully operational.
As of October 2024, all 80 turbines and monopile foundations have been installed, and 78 out of 81 inter-array cables have been connected. The project is progressing steadily, with commissioning anticipated by the end of 2024. The Yunlin wind farm marks Taiwan’s first offshore wind farm using monopile foundations, a critical milestone in the region's transition to renewable energy.
The project is developed by Skyborn Renewables in partnership with stakeholders like EGCO Group. It operates under two 20-year power purchase agreements, ensuring a steady contribution to Taiwan's energy grid and significant environmental benefits.
